Upcoming issues with switchover to digital TV broadcasting

Complaints pour in after digital TV test - Tech and gadgets - MSNBC.com

I've been hearing bad stuff already, I think they jumped on the bandwagon without enough research and development, and there's going to be a good bit of pissed off people.

Think of the ratings! All time lows in all of television history will be made!

dude... cable tv isnt exactly free, and I dont have it. Besides, my mother and grandmother rely on the tv for entertainment, with just the regular channels. Still get useful channels on it too.

Unfortunately I think part of the issue is the FCC may have cap'd the transmission power for digital too low to reach the same radius analog did. So from what I hear some of the rumblings about is the test beds do not receive all the channels they did before. Hmmm.

Sounds great. psst. i'll send you some music that I generally listen to if you want, so you can get a feel for how I play, as my play style in-game generally is reflected by the music I listen to.

Careful, if you casue a death or injury you may serve a lot of time and even worse cause someone a lot of hurt.

                              LOL- I know.

But the FCC is required to provide a signal of communication to the people. They mandate that specific broadcasting stations provide their signal to the people over the air.

The whole arguement is entwined in that "gov messaging must be free to the people"

If you are paying for cable so you can recieve government messages (i.e. emergency broadcasts, pub service announcements, and etc) then the government has failed.

funny thing is, you are still paying for the messaging, because you have to own a TV

Having tried many cases I've given up on expensive ones. Not convinced they are significantly better than an inexpensive gel case for 1/10 the money....
