Poor Hugh Hefner!

My co-worker has a great point-

Hugh is a genius in marketing and business. He announced this year was the last year of parties at the mansion.

They have scaled back a few things on his appearances.

Lastly, the show they have been doing with him and the gals he lives with is in its last season as of next year, and they already wrapped the shooting of that.

I think that Hugh has a habit of taking care of everyone who works for him, and that the best way to reward these gals is to create lots of buzz for them as he winds down.

This "break-up" creates lots of buzz around these 3 other people who have been, face it, his trusted business partners. They get options an opportunities as they exit their chapters of Playboy, which is the type of thing a person like him does.

I suspect Hugh is ill, and he is just tying up loose ends. This is genius marketing- his tv show will get good ratings as it clsoes its last two seasons, the network gets some advertising, the company gets an interest push, advertising dollars will rise, and in a nutshell, its good business for the company.

I think this is the likely story.

His daughter Christine Hefner has been running Playboy Enterprises since 1988. He picked her as his choice for company president at a time when Playboy was starting to decline. She is credited with turning the company around and bringing it back to profitability.

I didn't say you have to like it but you must acknowledge his companies presence ( not the content ) but at least from the media standpoint of accomplishment.

He had the American Dream......Identified a need, Created a product and built a customer base then capitalized in a huge way !!

For WHATEVER reason....How many adults in this country DONT know who he is ???

You are right about him being an Iconic pimp. Where I'm from, pimp is the worst thing you can ever be. Then when I came here, the cool guy is pimpin', is a pimp, or wants to be a pimp. Yes, it's a lot of money. Yes, you get to bitch/pimp slap people. but no, it is not an honor to be a pimp nor would it be iconic if he made millions outta making girls take off their clothes... and show off those plastic surgery patients... sometimes mental patients ..... At the end I do agree with you, on him being an icon, not on him being a legend of marketing or business... he is after all, an old guy with a young girls fetish....
