that almost happend to me when i was a child. I was standing on a rope swing about 5ft off the ground, the board I was on broke ( the loop was around the bottom and the strings came up the sides) and I went through the loop while still holding the ropes.

It cinched and clapsed around my neck and in one armpit, but I was still choking. My feet were not on the ground. My Grandfather always had a Buck knife on him, and he had cut through the rope in nothing flat- I mean I dont even remember being startled- just mad because they cut the rope.

Anyways- kids are kids, you make them, and then send them out into the world with all your care, love and wisdom. Accidents still happen, and I know that my boys are in danger every second of their lives until they are old enough to think for themselves. You can go crazy if you try to plan for every threatening contingency in life.

So sad- I'm gonna go kiss my boys now.

This can also happen with the cords on blinds. We have trimmed our down and replaced some with the cordless types. Man two post about kids dying is going to make me want to go get my son from school and play guitar hero all day.

Wow I read this one out of all the threads I've commented so far in this short amount of time and actually feel sad about a child dying. Accidents due happen, it's not always just the parents, but this is just sad. Curiosity killed the Cat seems to be more than just cats.

My heart goes out to the family, because it seems these ones actually cared very much for the poor boy.
