Was anybody else thrown off by the lack of any text chat ?? I'm a very chatty texter in-game, so this sorta bugged me, as I couldn't thank anybody or offer a 'Nice Shot' comment .. the game did all of that for me, but its very impersonal when its just a scripted audio clip for an event.

You didn't have text? I remember setting the keys last night, and it had general chat, team chat, and voice. Do they not work in Beta MP servers? (I only tried the SP mode).

Rand, I had forgotten to even BIND my keys before I got into my first round, so I was the idiot still on the rooftop while my team was on the first floor getting mauled.

So I admit to not having had time to weed through the settings, but not one time did I see ANY text chat onscreen from anyone. Even the lobby setup chat was quiet for the most part.

Sadly, there are just too many new games out, and we are seeing the CLR community split up YET AGAIN as weeach go our separate ways.
Nothing ticks me off more than seeing a community fracture as multiple new releases come out, and it could be six months til I get done playing whatever game draws my eye.
I'm giving CoD:WaW the shaft for now, as I am just burned out on CoD in general, and having to complete each gold weapon unlock is annoyingly repetitive.

Anyhoo, I guess I'll enjoy L4D for now. I gotta learn to move left/right more, as I keep getting slimed by the fat zombies.
