L4D was fun in the demo, and I'll have to try the MP when I have time, but I'm not hooked enough to want to play it alot--certainly not the year or so a typical GOOD CL game lasts. I'm not sure how long COD5 will last either (judging by the drop in post count during the Beta here, maybe not long?), but I'm getting it to play with the gang for a bit.

I just don't see a great shooter out there for us any time soon. The best games of the last year or so have been the single-player variety.

And for some reason, the last year just seemed like the general gaming populace went all wonky on their preferences. Both Crysis Wars and UT3 should have gotten much more popular than they did. I just can't figure out why they weren't catching more attention. It's almost like most gamers are following the Game Stop trend and moving away from the PC games. If it wasn't for COD 4, this would have been a terrible online year.

I played the demo with Todd, Massacre, and a british friend earlier. It was sooooo fun! It was the best teamwork experience I have had since we played bf2142 so long ago. Teamwork is what makes Cains Lair... Cains Lair. And to be the frank the games since Bf2142 haven't been up to par on that aspect (apart from tf2, which no CL's play... which is why I've had to join other communities to have fun).

Don't play the SP for this game. It isn't nearly as fun. We finally beat the demo after about 45-60 mins, but we kept dying lol. And the fun part is that the zombies keep spawning differently. They come out of FREAKING NO WHERE .

Theres 10 more maps. And that one took a while. And we were playing it on normal. It would take some serious serious serious teamwork to get through that on expert. Holy crap. That would be an epic adventure ^_^.

And don't worry about the server browser not being out yet. It's not nearly as fun to play if you're not playing with friends (or at least people that have mics and use them). You really need a mic to play this game. Teamwork is the only way you all survive. There are actually ways to hack open a server browser in the demo, and I imagine that they will add it in the real game. But just joining off of friends on steam has worked fine for me for now.

The thing is with this game is that you really need to know who you're playing with. They need to be loyal in that they won't leave half way through. Or just be dumb and leave you halfway across the map. Because you will all fail.

I'm definitely preordering now, this is a GREAT GAME for friends
