    Fallout Un-Install Problem

This might be a challenge, folks

Okay, if I go into "Add/Remove" Programs to un intall a program from a broke drive...and re-install it on my good drive.

But it won't let me do it because "Add/Remove" Programs is looking for a drive that no longer exists physically at all (I unplugged it data cable and power cable)

    How do I do this?

Ok what OS and game, I'll see if I can find something.

Well, if the data is already gone... then isn't it a simple matter of removing the registry entries?

Exactly what I was thinking, but if it's one of the DRM protected games we can check and see if there is a way to get his credit back for the install. If it's not DRM then just install over the old and it will update the new location. If that don't work then a good registry cleaner. I'm looking and comparing registry cleaners now unless someone already has a favorite and uses it regularly.

Okay, I did the uninstall again.....said the "Device Isn't ready"

Skip, Retry Ignore.... I skipped every file that was shown.

Then I was able to do an RE INSTALL of the game on to my new drive.

What's really cool, and I was sweating it...my Fallout SAVED Games DEFAULT to the Documents and Settings area of the My Games folder. Funny, huh?

For future reference.... Fallout 3 only uses SecURom to check for the disk and nothing more. You can even bypass this by choosing fallout.exe in your fallout folder instead of launching it with falloutlauncher.exe, which is also in your fallout folder.

                    For all your Securom needs...
Here's a tool to remove it.

                    See under 3.2:
                    http://www.securom.com/support_faq.asp

3.2 How do I remove SecuROM? from my machine?

To remove SecuROM? related files please follow the instructions below. Before you start the uninstallation, close all programs which are running in the background.

The link below contains a tool which removes SecuROM?:

                    http://www.securom.com/support/SecuROM_Uninstaller.zip

                    Please follow these steps:

                    * Download the ZIP file
                    * Extract the application into a temporary folder
                    * Launch the application and follow the instructions.
A dialog box will appear. To start the SecuROM? uninstallation, press the <Yes> button.
Note that you need administrator rights to run this uninstallation utility.

Please note that this uninstallation process will not remove the SecuROM? DRM license information. Removing the license information may result in a lost activation, or may prevent other SecuROM? protected software on your PC from working. This uninstall process allows you to remove SecuROM-related files without losing a purchased software activation. See section 4 for more information about license information.

Note that some or all of those files and registry keys may be re-created in their respective locations upon each launch of a SecuROM? protected application.

If you have used SecuROM? protected applications for multiple users on your PC, it may be necessary to run this tool under each respective user account.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
