    Microsoft 7

Well looks like they want to spring some life back into their OS's...

Windows 7 beta tested, photo'd, deemed 'massive improvement' over Vista - Engadget

I personally enjoy Vista but will have to keep an eye out on this one

Same here. I have heard that they are trying to make this one the "Linux killer."

One wierd thing is we have been trying to get a copy of the beta at work and haven't been able to find one. Can't even find it on MSDN...

I think I read something about them announcing the public beta sometime in the next 2 weeks Dead...Again. As far as on MSDN, not sure, cause I know it's been out in a private/invite beta for a while now.

Public beta will be released on January 5th. It was originally scheduled for December 18, but was pushed back to clean up some driver issues.

Yes, I did my homework, and you will see me posting my annoying thoughts on it a day after it comes out. I even put together a parts PC to run it.

The beta is surprisingly stable and bug-free at this point, and of course the torrent sites have already released build 7000 into the wild. I've no reason at all to get excited about it, as I have enough hardware to beat Vista into submission and act like I expect it to, but if I get free copies like I did with Vista (three free ranging from Business to 32/64 Ultimate) then I will most assuredly be running it just because its free .. and well .. that's about it.

Anyone else going to be toying around with it ? Ohh, and in regards to the MSDN question, it was effectively pulled from the MSDN subs after the leak to the torrent websites. I see no reason at all why MS did that, but that is their answer on the subject. Such a stupid idea and thought progression from MS, but aren't we getting used to that by now ??

I have installed Win7 beta on my free 30 Gb partition.
Whole system takes bit more than 8 Gigs of HD space/ vista needs 15 Gb or more (don`t remember). And like for me is working much better than vista . Also look very similar to vista with Aero things and few more functions , but like I said before this beta looks better than vista.
Later I will try to post some system SS

And microsoft wonders why nobody likes em.

So what's the main difference. Does it run faster than XP and vista? And also does it look similar to vista?
