I would just Like to say The Intel I7 920 CPU Rocks Can OC with no problem I have mine at 3.2Ghz at the moment when the Turbo kicks in it go's to 3.4GHZ.
I also decided to goto the i7 920 cause it is half the price and it OC's to better performance then the 940...I can get the 920 to 4.2ghz so I think I am going to go that route
When the build time comes, I will need some of your opinions/help in regards to RAID setup, as I have never run a system in RAID before and want to discuss my options, as well as the best route to go
Thanks Juneau...I did some research on the Tuniq and u r correct sir! It averages 8-10 degrees cooler then the U-120, and is like $35 cheaper.
As for the case, I think I am going to still go for this one because I have no worry about dust. My wife and I vacuum, mop, and dust 7 days a week so it is really clean. I have had the side of my current system off for over a month now, and have not had to remove dust from the system. My main concern is getting as much air circulation as possible, as my systems tend to run hot normally to begin with, but now I am planning to OC a 2.6ghz chip to 4.2....it will be even hotter. When u factor in NB temps, and the temp of 12gigs of Reaper RAM as well...I'd rather have to blow out mah rig once every few weeks, then to overheat everything
As far as I know Seagate fixed there 1.5tb drive problems.. I purchased 1 around December and have had no problems with its so far...
That being said if I was given a choice between Seagate and Western Digital, I would go with WD. Ive had several Seagates die over the years and have usually lost everything on them. With my WD's I usually have some warning signs before they die. The seagates would usualy just up and stop working.
If the 2 TB WD ever gets into price per gig range of the 1.5tb Seagate ill be buying one.
Ok I have not built a rig for a few years and kind of have a mind blank...how do I get it so vista will install on a new drive?? Do I format via command prompt??
Vista should take care of the format option during the beginning of the install.
