Call the manufacturer and if it is a problem with the card, RMA it.

As much as I wanted to like ATI on my last PC build, and I even promised you guys I was going with ATI for a change, I waited an extra 4 months to buy a card .. and I went Nvidia AGAIN !

Now there wasn't much reason given, but I just like the cooling setups with Nv cards more than the reference setups that all ATI cards had at that time. Usually anything I buy that is a bone stock 'reference' card gets modded quickly to make it better than stock.

So I haven't seen too many complaints on ATI higher end cards, but there have been enough to make you a bit worried if you do own one.

PS - I even bought two older ATI cards in the past week for PC builds, so I actually prefer them for what I assemble and sell. They are cheaper than Nv cards and I can even get some AGP cards to upgrade customer PCs if the need arises.

I run GFG 9800GTX in sli mode. They also ran hot.Hot enough to cause crashes.
I am now useing Riva Tuner. With Riva Tuner I can now control the speed of the card's fan.I now run them at 100%,for gaming,50% just to surf the net.I dont have crashes anymore because of over heating.Try it and see if it helps you.

Any time anything makes a NEW or unusually loud sound, TURN THE COMPUTER OFF, wait 30 sec, then restart if the same thing happens then look up any really new or really old parts you have and check for wide-spread problems.

If you cant find anything and it is still making the noise, call tech support for the manufacturer of your computer, (unless you built it yourself, in that case then go to the store you bought the parts from and ask for help) and describe the problem and the events leading up to it in as much detail as possible.

personally i have always preferred nVidia cards to ATI, for the simple reason that they are (IMO) higher quality and better optimized for gaming.

I think you have a problem. Im running 2 8800 gts (g92) in sli. I almost never run my fans above 70% and my cards stay within acceptable range (below 70c). Think you need to push more air onto your cards. That is unless your overclocking.

100% That thing have to be noisy. I once ran 100% on my old 8800 GTS card with the Riva Tuner to see what that fan can do and it was loud.

I have a full tower,a Thermaltake Armor...Sure at 100% they are a little loud, but not bad.I run it at that speed to make sure they stay nice and cool.
I have one 25CM Fan and three 120 mm fans....Any way,I use head phones,so if its a little loud...I dont hear it.

If you can keep them below 80c at 70% fan that would be more then enough. And we both have the same case My wire management sucks but im pulling 50+ hour weeks and i dont have the energy to play with that. And im sitting in my dads RV 500 miles from my Fort Myers home . If it wasnt for the 2 GPU fans running at 50+ % i would not be able to hear the system run. Only thing that would cause that to change would be high GPU clocks, mine are at factory which is 650mhz, Ive run them in the 720+ range for a time but i prefure to keep them lower, they will live longer.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
