Using NEW Memory Cards with Older Model Cameras

I have an older Model KODAK Easy Share DX6490. I found out from a tech support person that the HIGHEST card it can carry is a 1 gig...beyond that it might come out on the computer formatted properly out in the "wash" as a result.

Anyone confirm this? Sounds like if you put a 4 gig IN that camera, but it might have issues beyond the 1 gig memory card.

It depends what he means. If say your camera uses SD cards then anything over 1GB is classed as SDHC, which not all cameras can use.

Have you tried looking around on the web for more info?

It could also be the fact that kodak wrote a crap driver for the mass storage device so it won't support anything else. Tony best thing to do is borrow a card from someone and test it.
