I bought an HP Color LaserJet cm1312nfi last year and love it.
It has a wired ethernet port, which I prefer, not wireless. I was worried about the cost of toner and how well it would print pictures. I have not been disappointed and so far the toner goes a lot farther than inkjet. I also had heard about the HP bloatware, but the kewl thing is since it's networked I can install the TCP/IP print port and use the CD to pickup the drivers when it prompts and no additional software is needed. I do have the drivers and monitoring software installed on my desktop and it's pretty kewl. I can have a default folder setup for scanning and just hit the scan menu button pick the computer and folder name I have setup and it will scan the document and a popup for the filename will prompt on the computer I picked from the printer.

For me it was a little steep with a $400 price tag but it was worth it for me.

Not just that Doug, but the one that I bought without doing the research (And come to find out that most Epson's are like this actually) won't allow you to print at all if any of the cartridges are low! Doesn't matter if you are trying to print a simple word document in black ink (Which is a separate ink cartridge) or if you're printing a picture. If any of those cartridges are low (Below 10%) It just doesn't print. I tried every trick I can think of. Re-fill kits don't work as there is a chip in the cartridges that detects how much has been used compared to how much it came with. I even went so far as to get a spare cartridge that I had and changing the chips out at first, just to see if that would work as I knew that the cartridge had quite a few prints left in it....

In other words... DON'T BUY EPSON!

            OK I did it!

I'm am such a hardware whore. I wish I could get a job buying electronics for people.

Sometimes I have a hard time getting a good idea about a product just by online shopping so I went into staples. My thought was to get a B&W laser and a cheapo color inkjet. After talking to the salesman he pointed out that if you don't print color for a few months the ink can dry out. This may explain why the I'm replacing so many cartridges and the color seem to loose quality 1/3 into its life. I then decided to look at some color laser printers and after a bit of research I bought this one from the Staples.

            Newegg.com - HP Color LaserJet CP2025dn CB495A Workgroup Up to 21 ppm 600 x 600 dpi Color Laser Printer - Printer - Laser Printers

They had it with $100.00 of instant savings plus I returned my old one for a $50.00 rebate. So for $329.00 plus tax I was out the door with it.

Sweet, I think you'll be surprised to see what a 8x10 picture printout will look like. The only issue I had with paper was I could could fine photo mat laser paper

Well the setup was easy. I just plugged it into my router and did the express install on all the computers and it works great.

The only thing I printed so far was a Tae Kwon do pattern for my son and it came out perfectly.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
