    Looking for Backlit keyboard

Let me tell you my story.

Disclaimer: I don't really need a new keyboard. (but I just bought a mouse, the logitech G5 - that I also don't need, nother story)

Mu current KB is a logitech PS2, no backlighting, very basic etc, prolly 10 bucks off newegg a while back. The other day on a whim (without any research), I ran out to BB (first mistake) and bought a Saitek Cyborg:
    Cyborg Keyboard

I thought, "ooooh this is l33t, all the pretty lights, which can be customized for different areas of the physical kb." Mind you the purchase was about 95 dollars for the keyboard plus tax.

Today I realized that I'm a moron for spending NINETY FIVE dollars on a KB!! What the deuce?

I also realized the keys are too big for my nimble fingers, and the spacebar doesn't depress very well, making me skip intentional spaces while writing something. Then the stupid macro customizable keys on the side were completely worthless to me as a gamer...

So I packaged that back up and intend to return it to BB.

What I am looking for however is a backlit KB. Why you ask? Well because I enjoy flight Microsoft Flight Simulator in the dark, for my night flights (fine call me a geek ). And it's a pain to not see the important keys. So I would like a backlit kb to replace the monstrous Cyborg (complete overkill btw).

Anyone have a backlit kb they'd recommend? One option I am looking into is the Saitek Eclipse II
    Eclipse II Keyboard
I can get it for about 50 bucks off amazon.com with free super saver shipping. Not too bad, but still pricey for a kb.

    Ideas? Suggestions? Comments? Beatdowns?

I have a G15 and like it a lot. It is a Logitech and they have a new one the G19. It is expensive though.

        hmmm, still 90 bucks though

What do you like about it that would make it worth 90 dollars?

hmmm, maybe that is the one to own - do you guys notice the extra "G" keys getting in the way during gaming?

I found it new on amazon for 76 dollars free shipping, that's alright, but still steep for a KB

I like the fact that on the LCD I can use Vent, Riva Tuner and a performance monitor without having anything on my screen. I don't use the macro abilities because I use a N52 that has that capability.

The G11 is the same as the G15 minus the screen. So if you don't mind losing that, you could save some money. It is $63 right now on Amazon, compared to $75 for the G15.

I, like the others, have the G15 and love it!

Developing pattern here, but I have never regretted purchasing my G15, either.

The macro keys on the left have never gotten in my way, I like the back lighting, the key size and touch is really smooth and effortless.

However, I don't really find myself using the macro keys OR the LCD that's on it (although it's very cool). As far as I can tell, there is also the Logitech G11, which appears to be just like the G15 only without the LCD.

The upside of it is that it's a little less expensive ($53.99 @ newegg.com)

G15 here too, lol. Love it, keys feel good, the LCD is nice in various programs and games. Don't use the Gxx keys a ton, but they're nice if you do want them.
