Fuzzy printing on my laser printer.

I just printed a Map Quest map and the map and graphics a all fuzzy. This happens when printing color images from websites as well. It appears that the color aren't aligned. ie the yellow part of the direction signs on the Map Quest map are slightly lower then the other parts. Is there some kind of alignment process that need to be done?

I have a HP CP2025 LaserJet.

There should be nozzle alignment software in your printer tools. Open Printers and Faxes and right click your printer icon. Choose properties and look for a tool tab.

Can calibrate it using 2 methods, here they are.

Calibrate the product using HP ToolboxFX
1. Open HP ToolboxFX. See Open HP ToolboxFX on page 69.
Open HP ToolboxFX in one of these ways:
● In the Windows system tray, double-click the HP ToolboxFX icon ( ).
● On the Windows Start menu, click Programs (or All Programs in Windows XP and Vista), click
HP, click HP Color LaserJet CP2020 Series, and then click HP ToolboxFX.

2. Click the Device Settings folder, and then click the Print Quality page.
3. In the area for Color Calibration, select the Calibrate Now check box.
4. Click Apply to calibrate the product immediately.

Calibrate the product from the control panel
1. On the control-panel menu, press OK.
2. Use the Left arrow ( ) or the Right arrow ( ) button to select System setup, and then press
OK.
3. Use the Left arrow ( ) or the Right arrow ( ) button to select Print quality, and then press OK.
4. Use the Left arrow ( ) or the Right arrow ( ) button to select Calibrate color, and then press
OK.
5. Use the Left arrow ( ) or the Right arrow ( ) button to select Calibrate now, and then press
OK to calibrate the product.

Failing that you can just take the yellow cartrage out and put it back in again.
The printer should calibrate itself.

LOL it took me a while to figure out the when the direction referenced the control panel that they meant the one on the printer instead of the one in windows. Thanks it worked.

It's because the data is traveling too fast down the cable. Tie a knot in the cable and that'll fix it

I used the reverse of that trick on a network printer this morning...

The user was printing from the terminal server to the printer next to them, and it just was not doing it...

Told them, its just got getting the information fast enough, pulled the cable straight, and put the printer on the floor and leaning forward.

They asked what i was doing...
"Told them, well when the info comes out the wall, it will get to the printer faster.
Its the 'rollercoaster' effect.
Only issue is, if i get the angle wrong, you'll need smaller paper."

I will say that this printer was the easiest one I have ever set up. Just install the driver and it worked.

Most of the laser printers i've worked with have been easier to setup then the linkjets.

Esp business lasers, most of its out of box esp with HP.
HP i've found have the best setup controls on both windows and the printer for setups.

Thou i sorta defeat that at home...

I just bought a Brother 4040 CDN color laser, duplex with network builtin for about 300.00 bucks. Setup was a breeze. Print speed is not the fastest but, I don't really care about that. A nice touch was that the toner cartridges were full sized cartridges not some trial half ass sized crap. Personally I think everything now should have network builtin. Maybe thats just me..

We have about 4 HP 4005 color lasers at work .. freakin' HUGE monster ! You could hollow one out and hide a 9th grader in there !

Not seen the 4005 but it would not surprise me.
there was 2 of its lil brothers at my old work, could prob fit a 8yo in each one, but damn did they print off pictures and things with precision.

Most of the pics I printed off where only hindered in quality by the file and not the printer.

Laser printers are only fast if your printing multiple copies of the same document or have a huge constant print queue where the printer does not have time to cool down.

Quality of laser is worth the money if you are looking for it.
Even early laser printers where really good for quality.
