New Vid Card on the Way

Just placed an order for a Sapphire Radeon 4870 1gb Vapor-X card. Not quite top tier, but it's going to cost just $159.99 after rebate and with free shipping. Newegg rocks.

Spent a lot of time looking at cards the last 6 weeks, toying with finding prices. I'm limited to the Radeon 4000 series because of case size--I can't take the 2xx Nvidia Card lengths. Saw the 4890 as low at $179.99 with rebates on superbiiz.com, but was put off by the noise complaints from every review site. Thus, a preference for Vapor-X cooling regardless of chipset. In any event, even this baby will be a gigantic upgrade from my 8800 GTS 320mb.

Maybe now I'll feel obligated to pull Crysis off my shelf and play it through.

Congrats on the new purchase. I haven't been reading up on my hardware lately so I don't know too much about the latest cards but $159.00 seems like a nice price.

For my new build I put in one HIS 4870 1 gig card, and am very happy with it. I bumped up my settings quite a bit for COD4, WAW, etc. from my 8800 gts with 512 meg. It's a durned nice card.
