Maybe I im wrong since I don't know much about ATI, but personaly I would think that Corsair power is too low. (maybe its fine to power the SLI/crossfire on the lower end cards models) I don't know about if snakeeater11112 has any plans to upgrade or add crossfire in the future but that Corsair only has 2 x PCI-E connectors

I've also notice that the SAPPHIRE 100259-1GL Radeon HD 4870 takes 2 x 6 PCI-E connectors. If for what ever reason he plans to add a 2nd card, he would not have the extra pair PCI-E connectors. Now granted the GPU card comes with molex adaptor but I wouldn't use them.

That rig i specced probably wouldn't draw more than 350W on full load. Wattage isn't everything unless you're building a server farm with dual graphics cards and a bunch of CPU's.

You seem to be underestimating the quality of Corsair PSU's and other top makes. I have a 520W Corsair that is known to have ran 8800ultras in SLI.

I also have a feeling that snakeeater won't go dual cards, and i hope he doesn't because it's a waste of time. Fast single card solutions win everytime unless you're using insane resolutions.

It was brand new system build, and after trouble shooting the MB, ram, and even thought I had a bad GPU (*gasp*) cause when I install my old 8800GT, it ran fine. Long story short- I overnight a Corsair 750 and I found out it was the Ultra PSU all along , don't know if it was just defective or what but my system shutdown was gone. And all along I thought Ultra was a quality brand.... (Stupid Tigerdirect.com youtube video.)



Anyway, I was just wondering if it would be able to handle the extra GPU if snakeeater11112 decided to get one.

I'm run to 4890 in crossfire x with a corsair 850 Watt TX Psu without a problem and and OC I7 920 in my rig and So I would say go for the corsair Psu the come with 5 years cover.

LOL! Well, i think this can be called a user error, and your opinion doesn't make it true btw.

That CPU cooler, which also happens to be the one i'm using and so are a lot of other LGA775 users, just so happens to be one of the best rated coolers around. Sure it doesn't keep the CPU as cool as say the Scythe Ninja or one of Thermaltakes beasts (about 5c(13F) warmer), but it's around 1/3 of the price.
