Or actually, I guess Sub-$950.
I am going to get a laptop through work, and my boss said it had to be less than $1000. I found one for $999 that sounded great. Unfortunately, he said that was too close to the ceiling (if it goes above $1000 it has to be signed off by the owner). So, I need to find one for ~$950 or less. It will mainly be used for work-related stuff (building C and ASM source, checking email, etc.). However, I want something that I can play games on as well. This won't be something I game on all the time, but if I am out of town on business it will be nice to be able to play a little DOD:S with you guys.
I am completely unfamiliar with laptop CPUs and GPUs, so I was hoping you guys could give me some suggestions. I have found a few on Newegg that look promising, but I don't know whether a ATI 4570 is better than a NVIDIA 9600GT is better than a ATI 4650 etc etc.
Well, fire away.
