    1920 x 1080 Monitors

    Been looking at getting a new 24" Monitor and standard res is 1920 x 1200 but there are a lot of 1920 x 1080 monitors for quite a bit less. Are there any downsides to this resolution, do GPU's support it? I have a GTX275.

    Any suggestion would be helpful. I want a good monitor but I don't want to spend money I don't have to. Thanks everyone.

    I have an HP 22" 1920x1080 connected to MSI 8800GT 512 SLI configuration and it works fine with Crysis, BF2, WaW, COD4, DoD:S.

    The extra res on the 1920x1200 is nice, but the less cost of the 1920x1080 allows you to view HD movies with no problem.

      All modern GPU's support a lot higher resolutions than that. I was thinking about switching out my monitor for a new 1920x1080, however, you will find yourself upgrading your GFX card more often to keep up with the higher resolution. This put me off as i tend to buy a new card every 2-3 years.

        Yea I will be using it to work on all day, plus evenings to work and play on. I'm thinking of just biting the bullet and go with the Dell 2408WFP.

            1920x1080 = 16:9
            1920x1200 = 16:10

            With a 16:10 monitor you should get a little taller screen.

                Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
