Everyone has given exactly all ther reasons to do it and not to do it. I've got 2 desktops and 2 laptops. Only one laptop will get a clean install with Win 7. Its the one I play on in Iraq. The others will be ok. I havent had much of a chance to really mess them up...

I"ll build a gaming rig when I get home, and that will run Win 7 also. Hopefully there will be a service pack out by then to work out all the kinks. If not I may wait for it.

I've managed to skip Vista for the most part. Dont have it on anything. I did the same thing with Win 95, I skipped it and went straight to 98. Then went straight to XP Pro. Been there ever since.

Let's put it this way, it ran fine on a celeron laptop with 512MB ram. And btw it looks gorgeous (It's a chick word, but it is that pretty)

I have said this before: No matter how bad Windows 95 was it was 10 times better than Windows 3.1.
The younger people do not remember being unable to multi task. Need to print something? You had to wait until the printing was done to do anything else but sit there and stare at your monitor. And lets not for get that Windows 95 allowed you to use more than 16 characters when naming a file.

Where do you put the Bayonet?

I have fond memories of Win95. It allowed me to get away from 3.1. I actually continued to run 95 even when XP was released for a while. I just couldn't let it go.

Be safe juneau....just burn the whole thing.....

I'm not a fanboi, mac's aren't bad equipment, but most of what is touted about them being so great is complete BS. Never owned one, never felt the need to, have used them in the past however.

I'm just hoping Synergy works well on Windows 7 cause I'm going to cry if I have to keep 2 keyboards and mice at my computers!

I upgraded, It was $125 at Costco for the 3 license version, I split the cost 3 ways with my daughter and her boy friend.

Sort of an expensive impulse buy. Better to plan it out--most of us took advantage of the half-off pre-order pricing, and Best Buy has the upgrade version for half off this week, but most of the time stores will have it full price.

I bought the Pro Upgrade for my Home Office / Gaming Computer.
I have some programs that I use in my business that I can use the XP Mode if I have problems running them under Win7. And I am loving the 64 bit Win7. Having recognize and use all of my RAM is nice. So far the clean install has been the easiest update I have ever done.

If i hadn't been able to pick Win7 up for ?45 i doubt i would have ever bought it.

It's still at ?70 at some stores but most are hovering around the ?100+ mark already.

Reread the sale add. Ours is, "buy any Win7 Computer and you can buy a second Win7 Upgrade OS for half off".

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
