Looks pretty slick... but you've got the monitor in there twice and no motherboard

Pretty great though. I'm curious, I've been looking at building a rig soon and what made you go with the i5 rather than i7? Just price?

750 watt Corsiar. Then you could get a hd5850 or a gtx285. That is, unless you like the modular of the Enermax.

Ah yes the MB...

I had looked at a Gigabyte one because of some cool features but my familiarity with EVGA and its 775 cpu cooler holes put it on the list.

I went with the i5 due to cost. The MB was about the same but I saved about $200 between the CPU and the memory. I am still on the fence about this and I could be easily swayed to a i7 1366 socket. So is $200.00 worth the tri chanel ram and i7? I would love to hear your opinions.

Furry I am kind of anal about my wiring so I definitely want modular BUT one of the cases I'm thinking about doesn't have a window so maybe the extra cash could be used for a little more power.

I want to get this order in today but I'm on the fence about too many things.

Well when it comes to the memory. Tighter timings are better then speed. There are plenty of modular Psu's that wont cost you 200+. Plus the psu you listed has 6 12V rails

, 4 is the most id ever want to see on a psu under 1200 watts. On another not i just looked at the specs each rail is 12v@ 30 amps...... NO WAY IN HELL THATS TRUE........

Im running an e8500 oc'd to 4ghz, 4 sticks of ocz 2gb each at 950mhz, 1 x 150gb raptor, 1x 1.5tb seagate, 2x evga 8800gts, evga 750i FTW ===== when im gaming i pull almost 450watts threw that psu, and newer gpu's arent pulling much more then older models.
Not sure if my psu would work on an i5/i7 thou, did they change the connectors?

Those are good points Donzi... There is a $70.00 rebate on that particular PSU so it drops the cost a bit. Also a friend of mine has used this brand for years in his business and he swears by them when I read this article it caused put it on the list. It is interesting that they claim 30 amps on each rail which I think would be impossible.

So what was the exact spec Duke? Wish i was around earlier i would have talked you awayf rom the GTX275 to the Ati 5850 and to drop the pretty lame now VelociRaptor.

Well maybe there is a chance i could stop certain parts. Are there cheaper drives that are as speedy as the raptor?

The only thing that beats access speeds of 10k rpm drives is SSD's and they are still overpriced.
