    Anyone have one of these?

My wife's been nagging me about what I want for Christmas. Apparently I'm hard to buy for.

This looks pretty sweet, mostly good reviews.

Who here has one and do you like it? Or any recommendations on something similar?

I stumbled across that the other day and I kind or regret buying the new Nostronomo N52te. The weak point of the N52 is the lack of weapon selection buttons this Logitech device has that extra row of buttons and has caught my interest. Let me know what you discover about it.

Duke, you're the one that turned me on to the Belkin version (original N52, I think) several years ago. I really liked it but it got misplaced when we moved from Charlotte back in 2006 and hasn't turned up yet.

Well that one burned up a few weeks ago, I wish I had looked into this one before buying the new N52. I can't believe Belkin did not add just one more row of buttons.

I bought an N52te last year and I used it about 5 minutes so far.

There is a learning curve but when i first started using i was switching between a laptop and a desktop which had totally different keys so I was forced to use it and now I can't game without it.

Took me a week or two go get use to it but once i got the hang of it, it was great. Give it another shot.

I used the Belkin N52 for a long time. I really liked it. It took me a little time to get used to it, but after a while I couldn't go back to using a regular kb again. I have also taken it on business trips and used it on my laptop. My only real complaint is the same one Duke has: they should have added 1 more row of keys.

I recently needed to buy a new keyboard, so I picked up one of these:

                  Merc Stealth

At the time, Newegg had it on sale for $59. It took me a little while to get used to the switch, but I am starting to like it. The only drawback is that I won't be able to take it with me and use it with my laptop.

The G13 looks really sweet, and I thought about picking one up when they came out. I just have a hard time spending that much money for just a game pad.

I have a couple widgets like that and I think the only way to give them a fair chance is to start a new game and use it exclusively from day 1. Once you are used to the mouse/keyboard in any game you never want to start playing the extra controllers.

Well... I coudln't wait for Christmas. I was in Best Buy yesterday evening and they had it on sale ($10 off) so I went ahead and got it. I'm soooooo impulsive.

I have a profile setup for TF2 that I hope to try out tonight. If you see me and it seems that I am sucking worse then I usually do... we will blame it on the learning curve.

I'll post again in a week or so to with a report.

                            As promised, here's my review:

                            Pros:
                            • Very comfrotable
                            • Display backlight is customizable to a wide range of colors per each function key.
                            • The little thumb joystick... haven't really played around with it that much but think it would be great for flying vehicles like in BF2.
                            • You can store the profiles on the controller itself - handy if you use it on different machines (like a laptop while traveling).
                            • Any G15 LCD app will work teh G13.
                            • Can record quick macros with push of button.
                            • All-in-all, I have no regrets with this purchase.

                            Cons (just minor):
                            • The keys that you normally would map WSAD to are slightly dimpled so that you can 'feel' them; however, maybe my fingers are too fat or the dimples are not large enough. It would have been better have a small, raised notch as found on most keyboards.
                            • Don't really like the software, it could use lots of improvements. If you map a key to a key stroke, then the key shows up on the display and you cannot rename what is displayed, ie <space> on the display, can't rename to Jump. However, macro names do who up the the display - so I have macro's for everything, even a keystroke, so all the actions show up on the display.
                            • The top left and top right keys are a bit hard to get to without lifting you hand.
                            • The profiles that come shipped with it - the games need to be installed in their default directory or they won't work. I think there is just an xml file where you can edit the path to the .exe to fix, but haven't played around with it.

                            Screenshot of software below
