Read the articles, there's actually a lot of sense in doing the transition. Well, other than that XP might kick some fits, although most people should be moving away from XP by now. In fact, the change may actually increase speed.

OK I still don't get it. It talks about how it can increase capacity for those drives. It just doesn't say if I can buy a 10TB HDD next year. Those 1TB drives are too small, for my needs.

Anyone else find it hard to believe that there won't be a performance decrease in the HDD having to split the chunks, especially when it comes to fragmentation?
The green drives are designed for mass storage. Please tell me you're not using them as an OS or other App based drive?

Answer my question with a question will ya?!

No, I'm using Raptors for my main. All my green is external (I also don't like Green because it sounds like something that Al Gore is stuffing down my throat)

            I didn't quote you!

But to answer your question, no. No you will not be able to buy 10tb drives next year. I actually doubt that any manufacturer will release anything higher than the current 2tb drive by WD.

Too bad. Come to think of it. If they do fail it's a huge loss of data compared to 1Tb.

I do like to make a rig with 50TBs just to say I have one

                    Here you go:

You could actually get ~90TB with 2TB drives in that thing.

$8000 is still a little too much...I'd be happy with even 10 drives and it is way more affordable

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
