    I've never seen that....Dont think they allow it here. I just spent the last 3 months doing Electrical work for a Temp job, and you cant even buy that type of wire here

      Well for the most part I advocate powering off when not in use. Really it comes down to personal choice. To sum up the facts

      Powering down does save energy
      Power cycling does induce stress on some components
      The amount of stress and rate of failure is quite minimal on most desktops


      You could look at it this way how often do components fail due to power cycling vs money saved vs rate of equipment replacement. So if I save money enough money and the risk is low and I replace my computer every couple of years why not power off.

      That said I need to power off as I have a rack with datacenter equipment running 24/7 plus a hotub. I need to save where I can.
