I too though the original number was 700,000, but CNN is reporting today just 300,000.

Did you guys see this quote from some 31 year old who was either innately pretentious or all too conscious he may have been quoted? It was something like "I have been waiting a very long time for this particular form factor. It will allow me to have something I will be proud to keep on my coffee table."

I pictured Professor Frink spitting out a "Bwahay" at the end of that.

Something that outprices my fully functioning laptop (few years old, but works perfectly fine) that can't play Hulu, has no Flash support or card slots, and will annhilate my vision while trying to read books on a backlit screen is not something I have a need for. I've said it once, I'll probably say it again.

Now when Google gets into this market, they'll probably fix everything that's wrong with it and come up with something better at half the price. Then I may have some interest.
