A8N SLI Deluxe N-Force Chipset

I'm not sure if you're familiar with this chipset, but the fan kinda rattles and I'm thinking about removing it...I'm not entirely sure WHAT this chipset does though and if it's really NEEDED for anything?

Anyone know?

If I remember right it a Nvida Chip set driver you need for the board

The chipset is an important part of your MB and it needs that fan to keep it cool. It's kind of like your spine or aorta. If it's fan is rattling then the bearing could be going on it and you should find a replacement. This is a VERY common issue for this board...I had the same board. It is such an issue, that ASUS does not even have any fans to send you to replace it with....you will need to find an aftermarket one

The fan on my A8N-E died quickly too.

Look around for Zalman chipset heatsinks tony. Preferably the Zalman ZM-NBF47.
