i need a good amd motherboard that is able to crossfire (enough space to fit 2 hd 5770. any help would be appreciated. budget cap would roundly be 310$. =D

You also forgot slower.

Let me break down your list for you.

1. Decent PSU but the lack of modular connections is a let down imo. Bit over powered depending on what you'll be connecting to it. I'll be getting around to your graphics card suggestions later.

2. I imagine this PC will be mainly used for games? Do you do much video editing, high res photo manipulation, or audio editing? If the answer is no then buy a Dual Core. Intel is the way to go.

3. Why is it that people keep going to crap cheap plastic cases? A good aluminum case is the base to which you should build your PC. I haven't actually looked at the case but i image XClio design cases that look like Transformers. [edit: It's actually not as bad as i thought, but you can do a lot better for a similar price.][edit2: I've noticed they have 3 versions of this case on Newegg, all with varying prices. $90, $110, and $180. Do yourself a favour and buy something stylish from Lian Li or Antec etc.

Depending on which of the above XClio cases you were going for here would be my alternatives.

Possibly the best budget case on the market. Only let down is it's lack of easy cable management if you like to keep things uber tidy. (See modular PSU.)

4. RAM is RAM, unless you're planning on overclocking it way beyond it's max rated speed just buy something cheap/reliable. This maybe the case with the OCZ, again i haven't checked the price.

5. Ahh the old Dual Card chesnut huh. People around here know that i'm not a fan. Mainly due to a few reasons. The double the cost, but nowhere near double the performance. When they finally become outdated you now have to redundant graphics cards instead of one. Are you planning on running above 1920x1080? If i were you i'd save yourself a little cash and buy a single HD5850.

6. I'm not going to talk about the mobo as i don't think AMD is the way to go right now.

As a person who has been standing by AMD for a while now, and -always- has benchmarked higher across the board with a properly set up and tuned AMD system vs a comparable properly setup and tuned Intel system, I disagree with juneau. Out of the box, Intel wins, but tweaked, AMD wins for me.

Also, I find running ATI cards (made by AMD) on an AMD system tends to outperform ATI cards on an Intel system.

Firstly, based on what you're building and looking to spend, I take it you have disposable income, so price is not that much of a factor. If price -is- a factor, and you're not just blowing money to blow money, a 600W PSU and single graphics card is far far more 'bang for your buck' than a stronger wattage and dual cards. The overall increase from the second card does not warrant spending the money on it unless the money doesn't matter. This, I agree with juneau whole-heartedly.

Now, if you still wish to do dual video cards.. do not listen to juneau about the power supply. Twin high power cards will suck up power like there is no tomorrow, which can easily lead to an underpower situation during heavy use. Nothing like having the computer 'click off' during an intense battle with the CryEngine running on highest settings, when your Vcc 5V hits 3.1V and the motherboard gives up for the moment. With those video cards, you're right on with a good PSU wattage.

Now, regarding cases, I'm of the school of thought it doesn't need to be pretty and flashy. I do have lights in mine, but that's just because they came already attached to my cooling. I bought for performance, not style. Get what you like, so long as it has places for plenty of fans. Make sure you're running enough fans to keep a wind tunnel going if you're going to play high end graphics games on high settings. The onboard fans for the video cards do an ok job for the GPU, but raise ambient case temp quite a bit. I do recommend aluminum, or steel, over plastic for case material though.

As per motherboards, this should do you well....
