Windows 7 RC turns into a pumpkin at midnight!

If anyone's running it, you've been getting the popups like me. Windows 7 RC is about to shut down. There are about 5 and a half hours before it dies. Hope people have backups ready to go!

It should reboot every two hours after midnight, but it will still function up until June IIRC.

No offense, but that's why it's called a RC for Release Candidate. It's not a free OS per say.

Oh, I know. I've been a tester for many things for many years. I even used to work for EA as a tester (credited in several titles). Just throwing the warning out for those who've been on it, in the event its on another partition and forgotten (since good testers put their test beds on other partitions).

I've got a legit copy, just been dreading the reinstall. (Visual studio, all the dev libraries, etc... my reinstalls are long drawn-out nightmares!)

I'm pretty sure i recently posted a link to a quick way to update the RC from a the full retail version without reinstalling.

Let me see if i can hunt it down.

          edit:

Found it. Here was my reply to a thread GeneSW started a short while ago.

He never replied so i don't know if it worked or even if he tried it. But it's got to be worth a shot eh?

I did a fresh install. I had installed a LOT of stuff to test, and didn't always remember to use a good uninstaller (I use Revo most of the time), so fresh install gets rid of the fluff that gets left behind.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
