LOL did you at least remember the Motherboard standoffs? I remember someone else around forgot them on their first build so I figured I would throw that in.

I still need to get a CPU cooler/fan, still using the OEM one that came with processor... that V8 looks awsome.
i have the CM hyper N520. its a dual 92 or 80, i think 92 though. i remember i ordered this because the 120's looked so damn big, i did not want to order one, and for some reason not have it fit in my case. I am sure ther are better models, but it was pretty cheap, and does an awesome job!

I did watch plenty of computer building videos. All of them said to not forget them. A friend of mine forgot them for 3 days. Then he read it somewhere, it was too late as his mobo burnt. And that fan is heavy. I mean really heavy. At least 2 pounds.

Also, computer building isn't as easy as everyone says. There are too many rules. A few are mentioned on regular bases.

Lose a couple of degress? Wow, a whopping 2c less

Lol I never use my fingers to spread out the paste. Using the fingers only leaves skin oil's on the cpu and the paste. You can use powder-free latex gloves if you going to use ur fingers. Credit card, member's card, even the hobby paint brush would work to spread out the paste. Guess what I used when I install my Phenom.... hobby paint brush

This is my opinion on why I spread it out. You'll never have a consistent shape when it is compressed unless you actually take the time to install the cpu fan screws and rotate after several turns for each screw.

You can get an circle, oval shape or even a "D" shape layout on the cpu. Pull that fan off that CPU and tell me if its spread out evenly over the sillicon. What if the paste isn't over the cores?

This is why I said each person have a different view or way of doing this. I just can't see the logic in the "pea size". But to each his own
          .

Then I look down under my feet and I see the unopened thermal compound tube. Had to redo it all over again. I swear I saw a "FAIL" hoovering right above my head.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
