I have bought three PSUs and the only that was marked was my Thermaltake Toughpower. It just happened to be my first one so I guess I was lucky.

I'm sure all will work just fine there K and before you know it you will be loving the machine that you brought to life.

Thanks guys. One problem fixed. Moving on to next. And it was a quick one lol. I did connect the PCI-e cable to the mobo. Guess that's a no no. I connected the 2 4pins and BAM! everything started running. Now to the next problem. I attach the new monitor and it says no signal. Somehow this monitor doesn't have DVi. How in God's name is a monitor built in this year not have DVI? 2HDMI and no DVI?! Anyways. I used the old monitor I have, and still nothing (DVi). The VGA is working and I can see the fan spinning. What might my next problem be?

Also, I did read the manual for all the connections. I just don't want to read 14 manuals. Hell, the last thing I ever read fully was a foreign movie subtitles.

Do you hear any beeps? If you do those beeps are whats called a post code (power on self test). Count the number of beeps google that and your MB make and model. If you don't have any beeps

        A. your speaker could be not working (not likely I just included it for completeness).
        B. RAM is not seated correctly. Reseat the ram make sure you have it going the right way because they are keyed.

        Also you should
        C.Reseat the video card.
D.Does your vid card take a external power source? Most high end cards need a 4 pin power source plugged into them (I think).

I thought mobo already came with a speaker. Though another one was in a bag but I didn't bother putting it since I thought it was already attached. Maybe it was an extra. Maybe not.

Ram is seated correctly according to manual.

Unplug VGA and reseat it? same slot i assume.

And my card takes 2 6pins from PSU.

Now I'm troubleshooting with my friend on xfire and he seems to mess my computer up even more. He told me to clear CMOS. I did. Now my computer turns on. Fans on, everything on, and like a stalled vehicle. It would turn off, on, off, wait 2 seconds, on, off, 4 seconds, on off. And at that point i turn it off from PSU. Any idea how to re-un-mess the CMOS thingi?

wo that was a good one. I didn't think RAM could cause so much trouble. Switched RAM to opposite slots and turned on, booted. Yay. I'm in BIOS right now and installing win 7. Hopefully this the last problem I encounter. Thank you everyone. Wish I could hug you right now

also, my CPU is 26 degrees, so far.

Just remember on your MB you have to look at the debug LED display and reference the code in the back of your book. After your POST is should say FF (fully functional) and then it will indicate your CPU temp. see item 9

Don't worry they didn't take all the fun out of it you still have to figure out what the code is.

                      Congrats K!

What slot did you had the ram in?

Gah, I wouldn't have had the problem if I had re-read what you said. You said start on the first GRAY slot closest to CPU. I started on the CLOSTEST slot to CPU. Which was a black one. I had 3 of them on the black slots. Switched them over and then it booted. <3

My CPU IS FRIGGIN 25 degrees in this 75 degree weather. I'm sitting on a fan. This is great. My old Q6600 never went under 40. God bless Coolermaster GIGANTOR! aka V8.

Be sure to use a program like Realtemp to get your temps. The onboard reads cool in my case. At this time my cores are at 30 and the LED display only shows 19.

I'm curious if the BIOS temps match the LED?

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
