    good call, ill borrow the cables from the working sata drive i have. see if i cant get the bios to see the drive then .

          You should find out if it is capable of recognizing a drive that is over 1 TB. You could use the new cables and a different SATA port with you current drive to test this theory.

            Ok, results of testing.

            Using a known good sata port and good cable: no luck
            Emailed WD, they said try a certain jumper setting (sata I instead of sata II speeds) : same result.

            So, using recommend jumpers set, a good sata port, and a good sata cable, no luck.

            That narrows it down to a bad drive, or possibly a bios issue

            Oh and to verify if it worked i checked the bios and also windows disk manager thing.
