    Win 7 install black screen

Ok, so I try and load the OS, goes through all the loading process, everything looks good. Get to the last time windows is starting up to finalize installation and it goes to black screen after the windows logo finishes and it never recovers. Tried 3 times. no joy.

I have an Asus P5KPL board. Brand new Seagate Barracuda 320 7200rpm Sata HD.
2gb ram. Everything was working on the old machine. All I did was place the HD in and take off. Clean install. Window 7 Home Premium 64.

    Any idea??

I had the same problem last week when I did the fresh install of win 7 it was a bit of dust on the disk.

So just doulbe check the OS disk and the Dvd rom for any sign of dust

What do you mean it doesn't recover? How long did you let it be all black?

Here are some success stories with solutions:
        Windows 7 Black Screen issue

My favorite fix was where he had to update his monitor for Win7 to work.

15 minutes. I figured that was enough to get it done but I could be wrong.

Got it fixed guys. Seems Win 7 doesn't play nice with HDMI cables hooked up the same time as VGA. Just unplugged the HD cable and it all worked per the website someone suggested.

Thanks for the help. I'm back in the game.
