    Mouse Problem

When ever my system starts up. My mouse is behaving like it is constantly left mouse clicking when ever I left mouse click the mouse the first time. So if I left click Internet explorer it will start up like 30 of them. I have the system set for double clicking. Now to get rid of the problem I just go to Control panel and then Mouse control and hit OK and it goes away and behave perfectly, until the next reboot of course.

    System Info:

    Windows 7 64bit Home
    G5 Mouse using USB control

I've run this system for over 6 months with no problems until about 1-2 weeks ago. No additional programs were added that I am aware of.

    Suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Pigworthy

I have seen a few of these g5's fail like this. You could try uninstalling and re-installing your logitech software. Also try moving your mouse to a different usb port. If none of that helps I would say you have broke your mouses left click switch and will need a new mouse. It is odd that you can fix it then it starts again after a reboot. That sounds like a software issue but I have seen a lot of the g5's left mouse buttons fail including mine and went back to my old faithful 518 and still love it above all I have ever used.

Very unusual problem, not much to add to what Dragon said.

I would try adjusting the double-click speed setup (the speed that Windows interprets as a double-click). I'm guessing that the mouse switch is failing and magically interacting with Windows timing.

        1. Be sure to unplug any game pads.

        2. Remove your Logitec software and give it a try.

        3. I would then take the mouse apart to see if a button is sticking.

        4. Order a new mouse.

Well, I updated drives, and even changed the mouse. And still the same problem. On top of that I booted into my XP partition, and the problem is there also. So I would say Hardware problem for sure, could the keyboard be causing an issue. I'm more afraid that the Mother Board has a problem.

Well, it would seem I've found the culprit. The "Enter" key on the numpad was stuck. Must be Windows ignores it after a while.

If it's still doing it after you try these suggestions go in the control panel and switch buttons and see if the problem stays with the button. If so you know what to do.

ahh... the old stuck key is the culprit. I never thought of that thanks for let us know. You could enable the sticky key reminder so it would warn you when that happens but it is more trouble than it is worth IMHO.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
