    Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

My gaming rig isn't booting. I've been out in the heat most of the day today and am too worn out to do any troubleshooting tonight but wanted to post my general stategy for troubleshooting so you guys can let me know if I miss anything... .

    Symptoms:
All the fans come on, little green light on MB is on (steady).
    Nothing posting, noting on screen.
USB devices are not initiallizing (the KB Num Lock light and such are not blinking once once indicating they have been intialized).
So... seems like the bios isn't even loading. No error beeps, no LED blinking troublecodes

    Troubleshooting:
After each of these steps, I'll power on to see if there is any indication of it booting/bios posting.

Unplug everything from the back of it.
    Remove PCIe video card
Unplug each SATA device (one at a time)
    Remove one memory stick
    Remove second memory stick

My gut feeling tells me it is the MB since it isn't even getting to post and isn't giving any indication of errors with beeping or LED blinks.

Seems like you did what you could. Two questions, did you change anything before you shutdown the last time, and did it act up before you powered down the last time.

Other than that it should at least Bios up like you said if any of the other hardware was faulty. Guess that only leaves the board.

Rebuild it outside of the case. That can cause it to come alive sometimes.

Check the PS voltages before continuing.

I agree with DB. Seems PSU related. The very first thing I'd do is just re-seat the memory and vid card first. Then check the PSU

I've done all of the above now.

I also took the PSU out of my daughter's computer and tried it in mine, still a no go so my PSU is ruled out now. Seems like I've always had problems with PSU's in the past so I wanted to rule it out.

No problems with it previously. I had left it on when I left yesterday morning, tried to get on it last night but the login screen never came up after moving the mouse and tapping a few keys. Powered it down manually and it never would come back up.

I just submitted an RMA request with ASUS. I've never had any dealings with them before with RMA's, hopefully they won't give me a hard time.

Anyone have any RMA experiences with ASUS, good or bad? It's been almost 48 hours since I submitted the RMA request and I haven't heard from them... just wondering if I need to prepare myself for .

The gist of this thread is mostly negative on your question, but they recommend using the phone instead of email.

I was going to suggests the phone too. The only time I had a problem with an Asus Motherboard, it was under warranty and Newegg exchanged it for me. I actually went ahead and bought another from Newegg and they credited me the old board after they received.

Cool, how long did you have the board for prior to returning? I've had this one since October (got it from newegg) so not sure they would do that.

Go to Newegg and log in. At the bottom center, under My Account, click RMA Request. Under invoices click show all and find your motherboard and click the link. It should tell you if you can return it to them. I talked to them on the phone to see if they would allow me to prepurchase and get a credit on my return.

Thanks, Apache. Looks like they have a 30 day window.

This item was purchased more than 30 days ago and is no longer eligible for a replacement RMA.
Looks like I'll have to call ASUS tomorrow.

Called today and got an RMA in about 5 minutes. The lady I spoke with said that their e-mail hasn't been working good the past week.

Wish I would have called on Sunday now instead of doing on web.

MB is all boxed up and ready to be dropped in FedEx box, standard overnight. I'm not expecting a quick turn around time... maybe have new one by end of next week, they ship back FedEx ground.
