    VGA Replacement Fan

I was wondering (this is a different component than the Motherboard Chipset fan)

What is a good replacement heatsink/fan combo for this specific video card? Or just the Fan actually? or both

I don't really understand what I need from the Frozen CPU site though

Like I don't know the dimensions and voltage to pick from that menu.

I can't tell from the picture so if you can post the stats of the card I would try and look it up for you. You could also call FrozenCPU. I found them to be helpful a couple of years ago when I was modding my LianLi case.

But, it's ROUND...so that's like stickin a round circle ina square hole aint it? LOL

You see, the fan sits between the end "fins" on the card...unless that unit they suggested replaces ALL the FAN AND the Heat sink / PLate as they call it sometimes

The one they suggested should be okay, since it looks like all it is covering is the GPU itself. The only time you would really have to worry about shape is if the heatsink is also being used to cool the VRAM.

I think the fins will come out when you remove the fan. The fins should sit on top of the GPU processor just like the CPU heatsink. Dont forget the thermal paste when you replace it.

Not sure I follow. When you say the one "suggested should be okay since itlooks like all it is covering the GPU itself"

The one they suggested is SUPPOSED toreplace the current heatsink AND fan...and just place that new item on top of the GPU (with thermal paste?)

Is a new video card out of the question? Once you're into spending nearly a third of the card including shipping, it's time to consider replacing, especially at that price range.

It's sort of like with a car. There's a certain cost point of repair given the age and other conditions of the car where it's better to just bite the bullet and replace it given the questionable benefit of those repair costs.

Nah, it's a relatively new card anyhow. Kind of like throwing the baby out with the bathwater if I did it that way. Anyhow, I already spent the money on a fan...so....it's moot.

My point was that on higher end video cards the heatsink and fan are also used to keep the RAM on the video card cool in addition to the GPU. In this case, it is only covering the GPU so shape really won't matter as much.

I was asking in case you could just RMA the card.

Don't think i would have spent any money on fixing it tbh. It's not exactly a super expensive card.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
