same graphics card that I have, you can push it a bit further then the factory OC, and if you don't care about the warranty you can remove the sticker and take about 1-2 degrees off of the temp! Also, make sure that you bump up the fan speed to about 90% as well.

even if you don't mess with the card?

trust me. Get rivatuner and i'll make you a video so you can push the fan speed up or else that baby will run hot.

what are the clock speeds of your card? and seiko's right. the firmware for the card doesn't run the fan high enough to keep that baby cool.

Which one did you go with? at the time i was looking, not many "viabile" soultuins existed to work with the ram & the CPU that i found effective enough to justify the cost.

I'm pretty sure Thermaltake make the best 8800 coooler. I juts don't see the point though. These babies run cool and silent with the stock fan.

Well I just put the new graphics card in and it is QUIET. A lot less noisy than my old card. Here is the info on the card that is on the box.

                    GPU: Nvidia GeFore 8800 GTS
                    Bus Type: PCI Express
                    Memory: 640 MB GDDR3
                    Core Clock: 500MHz
                    Shader Clock: 1600MHz
                    Stream Processors: 96
                    Texture Fill Rate: 24 billion/sec.
                    Memory Bandwidth: 64 GB/sec
                    Shader Model: 4.0
Min Power Supply: A 400W PCI Express-compliant system power supply with a combined 12V rating pf 26A or more.

Since all of my computer specs are up there, will this new PSU work correctly?

According to the ntune thingy it says that the current temperature of the GPU (as I am typing this message), is at a stble 50 C.

No problems to report yet. The only thing that I am worried about is overheating. The new PSU and GPU are bigger, so how do I know if the system is getting too hot? Just based on the GPU Temp?

Hopefully nothing goes wrong...(already created a restore point )

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
