Just a question to some of the techies out there. Using Windows 7 with a 3rd party firewall/anti-virus, should one shut-off the windows firewall to avoid conflict/redundancy, or is it best to leave it running?...perhaps it's a case by case scenario. Well, any thoughts are appreciated...

I never use a firewall on my windows host...or my linux host for that matter. Just enable it on your router and don't use IE or outlook and you'll be fine -

To answer your question, turn off the windows firewall.
The use of two firewalls can cause some serious overhead and potential conflicts making it very difficult to troubleshoot connection problems.
