So I bought me a new CPU from newegg.com. The box arrived today and as I was removing the brown paper stuffing. I find my AMD CPU box at the bottom of the newegg box. Man I hope it was me removing the stuffing that put it on the bottom of the box. Sorry I need to vent before I go find a tree to kick.

Have you seen how your CPU is packed? Do you honestly think some movement is going to effect it? It's a CPU, not a harddrive or well, I see nothing getting effected from movements such as dropping. It's a stick. A simple 1 inch wide stick. It's not made out of jello.

I feel what you're saying but when have you heard anyone complain that their parts came broken during shipping? I personally have not.

I have had to return CPUs to them because of damage caused by improper packing. I cringe at the thought of anything shipped from their Tennessee warehouse. which seems to be where there OEM CPUs come from.

Have I seen how my CPU is packed? Yes, This is what I dont like about AMD packaging. I dont like how its right up against the side of the box and who knows what the box journey was like. I know its there to let you know you have a real CPU but that didnt stop users from getting fakes Intel i7 920 from newegg lol

Oh wow. When I got my i7 it was inside a 8inch protector plastic wrap thingi with the heatsink an inch away. AMD is just noob for packing it like this.

Ah the sounds of the misunderstood. You don't know my relationship with Caddys. From COD4 to BC2. I've known him for years. We've been going at it for years too. It's called spirit of competition. I have not ordered anything from them lately, but they do seem to use packaging to stop movement more than they do to protect.

Last thing I got was my 5850 and it was pushed to one side of the box. No probs though.

The CPU I ordered is Phenom II x4 945. The CPU was my main hold up cause I really wanted the Phenom II X4 910e. The Phenom II X4 910e is a energy efficent CPU rated at 65W compare to the Phenom II X4 945 rated at 95W. I wanted something in the 45w range but Phenom doesnt have anything in the 45w range unless its a Athlon II. The Phenom 910e would run cooler and the fan would been quiter. Two reason's why I picked the Phenom 945;

1.For some weird unknown reason Phenom 910e cost more then Phenom 945. I couldnt justify the cost difference

2.I went with Phenom 945 to hopfully I dont have to wait all day to encode a 7GB to 13GB blu-ray

The draw back is that its a 95w so it could come out as more heat and the fans beening a little Noisy. I could always manually throttle back the CPU but that defeat the perpose of Phenom 945. Oh well, I guess I will see how well the AMD Cool'n'Quiet 3.0 throttles works out.

I didnt had time to take a photo or edit this photo but the case on the right is my new HTPC. Its a long story but there is a reason why I have the case on the left. I was looking for a older discontinued Antec Fusion that has the VFD display and not the newer model LCD display. I found a site that "supposeally" had them in stock. I even called them to double check and the dealer lied to me and sent the wrong one. NO RETURNS So now Im stuck with it.

Are you friggin nuts? Sue them for false advertising (I ain't no lawyer)? I would be really pissed off if they sent me something I did not purchase.

also, there are people who worry about power consumption? I always choose the one with the higher rating- because everything is bigger in Texas. And bigger is always better... Amirite ladies?

Caddy easy enough to deal with the disreputable retailer. Call your credit card company and fill a stop payment. If you ordered one thing and got another thats a simple case
