    Tapatalk forum plugin.

Has anyone ever considered using Tapatalk at Cain's? It is free forum plugin that allows an Iphone and Android app to use forums. I bring this up because the mobile Cain's just seems restricted (still can't find how to just browse forum), and the full site is somewhat tedious to navigate on my Droid. Nothing too serious but I figured since the plugin is free it couldnt hurt. The users of the forum can then get the free or pro($2.99) version of the app. Major difference between the two is that pro version allows posting and attaching pics.

It did have some security issues in its earlier stages, but seems they are ironed out. I will leave it to those who can actually determine such things though.

How did you get the full site to load? On Blackberry I could just set the browser mode, but I couldn't figure out how to do the same thing on the Droid X.

tedious? The home page is tedious but once you find a shorter path, its smooth sailing. But Here is my view on the subject. Cain dont need no apps. Infact, Forum apps are a waste of time. The only restriction I get on cain is no pics, avatar, signatures and thats fine with me. If I want to see new post or topics, I click on "New Post" If there are topics that I dont care about, I just click on "Mark Forums Read" What ever you do, dont click that "Home" or you'll be lost forever.

If I'm at another site or google, I type "CA" on the droid and the browser brings up http://www.cainslair/search.php?do=getnew to get new post if any.

      App Version
Available on iPhone and Android (Android here)
Supports over 5000 forums (Mine supports 5000 forums)
Access multiple forums (Click and hold, it will give me options to open topic in new window)
Widget support (Android only) (I dont use it)
      iOS4 support (iPhone only)
Unread and participated topics in one tab (Read my post lol)
Bookmark topics for later viewing (click and hold it will ask to open new window, open topic, bookmark, save, ect..)
View who's online and their activity (LOL)
Create & reply to topics, edit posts (I can do that too Free version dont let you do that)
Send private messages (I can read and send PM's too. Free version dont)
Attach images from camera (dont know yet)

A app needs to be useful like stock quotes, Weather channel, Wifi finders, Speedtest.

I could ride my bike to work and would be fine. But I rather drive because its faster. I use apps because they are usually faster. If this was just a cover app that didn't really do much but link you to browser pages it would be bad ( example: ESPN ScoreCenter), but this is not like that at all. I have used the free version to browse random forums and it is much better than using any browser version imo. I don't use my browser much for anything other than google searches. Apps handle everything else.

Anyways, couldn't hurt right? And three bucks is nothing for something one might find useful.

And thank You Caddys, the mark forums read worked to let me just browse around.

@Warhead: Try entering "about:debug" in your browser address bar and enter. You wont see anything happen, but when you go into settings you should have many more. Towards the bottom there should be a field that lets you select user agent. If that doesn't work, you will have to get 3rd party browser like Dolphin HD or Xscope. They give you option to select user agent.

I use a custom ROM so I don't know exactly what stock lets you do as I rooted my phone almost as soon as I got it. Hope that helps.
