    Headset w/ 2 computers

    Hey guys!

In my dorm room I have a desktop and a laptop set up. My headset
either uses the standard pink/green plugs or I also have a USB adapter for it.

The problem is that sometimes I want to use my headset on my laptop, and sometimes I want it on my desktop. Is there a switch-type device that allows me to plug my headset into it, and it then plugs into both my laptop and desktop and I can choose which one? It is a big hassle to switch between the two so I was hoping for a cool little device to help me out!

Couldn't you just use a USB extender? So you don't have to reach around the back of your desktop

I'd go with the USB extender proposal or buy a cheap second headset.

I haven't seen a cheap headset A-B switch for sale. However, here's a link to a do-it-yourself option using analog connectors: headset plugs into the box, PC audio cables plug into the box, & everything connects to a switch. Just add more connectors & another switch if you want to include your microphone. A Radio Shack would help you match up your headset plugs with the right components. If you can't solder it yourself, find a EE major.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
