    Fixing a laserjet printer.

I have a laserjet CP2025 printer. Recently my stepdaughter put a type of media through it which not only jammed but it appears to have damaged the fuser. I was able to remove the jammed media and find a fuser online for $259.00 but I can't seem to find directions for replacing it. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Wow, $259 . How much would a new printer cost?

Well the printer is about $350.00 on newegg and there are 4 $100 toner cartridges in the darn thing so it's this model or bust for me.

Lol I will even take pics. I ordered the part and the guy on the phone "Danny" said I would be able to call them to get help if I need it. So far all I can find is a part catalog that has a few pictures.

it looks like a simple step of moving backwards from #1 will get you access to the 2 cover pannel screws and then to the 4 carriage bolts that fasten the unit to that of the internal frame

Its funny how well that movie translates to the actual workplace. I hear quotes from it all the time (probably helps that I work in corporate America too).

Well after all this time the part finally arrived after being on back order. I was able to install it and when I powered it up I got the same error. If I didn't have $400.00 worth of toner in this thing I would toss it and start over so my options are to bring it somewhere to be repaired or just buy a new one for $359.00. I'm thinking that $359.00 would not be that much more then the repair. Bahhh

Hey Duke I used to make illustrations for a company that made after market repair manuals for HP and Cannon printers. Let me get in touch with the guy who ran the business there and see if I can come up with any additional info. I know in some instances you have to do a certain button press sequence to clear the error, just powering it on and off won't clear it.

So far the only people I have talked to were the HP people. They were friendly but were obviously using flip cards. Will the model and serial number help out?

Yeah I think just the model# is good enough. I'll definitely get in touch with him by tomorrow if not tonight.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
