Ok boyos. Just received my system in the mail from Thailand. Lo ad behold , box looks like hell, got dents in it. Opened it up and the computer case is dented in 2 places along the top and back where the PSU is screwed in. Ok, so when I went to boot for the first time. Nothing, not even a beep from the self test.
So I crack open the case and look around, nothing seems to be damaged internally at least to the naked eye. So I fired it up with it open to see what fans are running.CPU, PSU, and the only external fan I have are all spinning like mad. Looks like everything is powering. The only thing that isnt running is the GPU fan, but that could be cause the video fails to come on. So, I take the video card out about 3 different times and reseat it and nothing changes. Monitor just stays the same. It just doesnt seem like the video is outputting anything at this point. Tried 3 different cable configurations and nothing. I had been using an VGA cable with a hdmi adapter going into the vid card. Which had been working pryor to shipping.
I know the monitor is good because I tested it on my mini HP when it got here. I dont have another vid card handy cause they are on the slow boat from Thailand and they wont be here for another 45 days. Any suggestions on what might be the problem.
I just dont see how something could be damaged but if it is, it may be on the board itself with it not self testing on boot. The board could be cracked but I havent been that deep on it yet. Been thinking about just rebuild and part this one out for a server or something.
Whatever happens I got 9 days. :-)
