    Memory

Question real quick, would putting more memory into a laptop, help run COD BO? Got 4 atm, can I put more in?

    #2
Um, don't have PC version of BO so cant help you there. You would have to look up the laptop to make sure thou. I doubt it would make a big difference unless its a really fast laptop. Slow HD could be making the game sluggish also, try disabling your Page File.

And please post what kind of laptop, less info we have the less we can say, hard to speculate on what kind of laptop. Could be a Pentium 266 for all you have said

It all depends upon the rest of the specs on the laptop.

          Graphics Engine*
          NVIDIA? GeForce? GTS 250M
          Graphics Memory*
          1GB GDDR5 discrete graphics memory

I believe that more RAM might reduce some of the game's long pauses, but it wouldn't do much for your frame rate. (just an opinion)

You could try and run some kind of ap that will record your memory usage while gaming and see if it is maxed out.

I think the speed of your processor may be an issue but I'm not sure. http://www.game-debate.com/games/ind...2520Duty%25207

I doubt adding more than 4GB will make much difference.

here's a thought on this topic

what OS are you running and are you running a 64bit OS? if not the memory issue wont be an issue if your running a 32 bit os cause your pc wont recognize anything over 3.37gb of ram if you are, as they said above the more info you give the more input we can give

He says it's "64 bit OS", so more RAM would function okay, but probably not help the game much.

Task manager can monitor memory, processor, disk usage, network usage and more, just start it up and leave it in the background.

Ive very seldom seen games that need more then 3gb of ram to play, i run 8gb and have a g15 keyboard and i only see 50% + usage on SupCom and 1 or to other games, most fps dont need it.

Rouge7 if you want to game on a laptop put that thing on Ebay, along with all you worldly possessions and save up for a laptop like one of theses.

well truth be told, I got it for me when I was in Afghanistan. Then I told my wife she could have it and that I wouldnt game no more...see how long that lasted. Anywho, it will be hers in a few weeks or so, when I start building another desktop, like I should have done from the start. No worries, just seeing what I could do to stop the stuttering in CoD BO once I get into close contact with the enemy.
