Shopping around for Tablets

Friend of mine is also shopping around for PC Tablets...now there are these hand held "Kindle-LOOKING" devices that ACT as a PC , I think

Then are these

Acer to launch a 10 inch, AMD-powered Windows tablet in February

Which is , essentially a small lap top computer (kind of netbookish), they're coming up with so many "Compact" PC-like devices...hard to make up my mind. lol


Friend of mine says to "hold out" for now, because with some technologies, the first wave is kinda "Sucky", and to hold out for another generation in the next few months.

My heads kind of swimming researching these, but NOT to bother JUST yet with purchasing one....just yet....

Any feedback?

Too expensive, not enough variety or enough benefit. Yet.

The iPad is the only one I would consider, and it's WAY too expensive. I'd wait at least until next year when the Android compatibility issues are resolved and you start seeing a lot more competition.
