hello! Need some help, thank you :)

hello everyone, looking for some help on buying computer parts, so 6months ago i had a computer which it motherboard fried of overuse so here i am looking into buying a new mobo, cpu, psu and ram(4G), i still hold a 8800GTS PCI E: x16 which is only been used about 2-3months that was used with the motherboard before it die, the card it still pretty much good, no damage was done. so i like to keep that in with the new motherboard ya decide for me because i very confuse which parts to get :/

so with the opportunity of black friday n cyber monday at newegg to cut my expensive a bit, my range it 800$ im not sure if that's enough for all 4 parts needed. don't mind either intel or amd, but that phenom2 x4965 has caught my eye as well of i7 n i5, lol but whichever fit well and cash range into all 4 im good with any.

i await ya responds, thank you in advance.
edit: btw this is for gaming purposes something what would stand to bfbc2 n moh high specs ty.

I find this sentence very strange indeed.

Motherboards can last a lifetime if they're treated well and have no physical defects.

Will try and spec you up soon.

I guess if you are using it as a washing board overuse may wear it out.

For $800 I bet you could get a nice rig with an updated GPU. I will also look about a bit.

Just a quick look at MAXPCs best of the best list led me to the Core i5 760. I know very little about the AMD parts so I stuck with this. I also never had an Asus board but this one seemed to be a good deal. I read the memory reviews after I made the list btu i would not buy these particular batch of mushkin due to quite a few bad sticks. I personally have have had good luck with them. I went to a PSU calculator and came up with 536W with on OC up to 3.6 and a pair of 460s in SLI. I always go higher with a PSU so I went with the 750W one.

Anyway this is a good start to get the creative juices flowing.

Add a hot deal on a 460/470 for around $200 and I think you are good to go.

You could go with a setup like mine, R. With the money you save on the mobo, get the 1090T. It rocks.

I WOULD HAFTA AGREE WITH SCUD ON THIS ONE

AMD would be the better way to go , intels have gotten finnicky ever since the release of the i3 & i5 cores especially when it comes to novice builders, which i can tell you have little pc building under your belt

The gigabyte motherboards are strong and stable and in a pinch they just work with very little comprimizes, i have 2 of them at the moment a ud7 and a ud4 both of which are amd based systems, i currently have a ud5 on the way with a new 1090T to see how they run, i used to be a strong ASUS supporter but they have fallen in their Quality controll measures in the past, and MSI's boards are good but make you think from outside the box apart from standard motherboard developement systems and can be tricky even for exspienced builders to set up correctly

for your build cost here is a decent setup that will work for you with little comprimizes made and should be pretty simple to set up even for a novice

however if your looking for a decent used pc i have a decent one for you as well,

                      and it includes the following

                      corsair 850 tx psu
pny gtx 260 2 of them in SLI
8 gig ocz pc 6400 platnium
                      xfi extreme audio

Yeah, what happened to Asus, Raijin? My last two have been Gigabytes, and there seems to be noticable quality differences between these and my last Asus (Gigs being the better). I too was once a loyal Asus customer.

I'm lost on what to do with MOBOs any more. I loved ASUS, and then the quality started to suffer. I bought a Gigabyte, which I loved, until it had a problem and I tried to get support. It was an exercise in frustration. So I went back to ASUS, while not the greatest board, at least their tech support is slightly better. Not sure what I will do when it's time for the next MOBO.

well thats what happens when The Major MB mfg's align themselves with chipset MFG's ...there is a growwing trend of AMD motherboards suffering the dillema of not being able to perform well with Nvidia software or Nvidia componants...in essence it wont be long before NVIDIA will be known as Intel and as we already know ATI is no more as its now AMD Owned and in 3 or so months it will be Badged as AMD ...which is good as IMO ati and amd are the way to go,

Asus has fallen from their perch since about the start of their ROG class of motherboards when their systems were in the beggining cross Gen Video card compliant, but since the start of Intels reign of terror on the PC frontlines and their war with AMD and their strong arming of MFG's they forced the hand of ASUS to comply or loose out on future CPU architectures or scource funding.... thats a bill that AMD won last may in Court... now when it comes to ASUS quality you only get 2 flavors, either get a Neutered motherboard that will support AMD or a high end motherboard with the high dollar price tag and the Intel badge... Gigabyte seems to have prevailed on this market that Intel has tried to force onto the rest of the MFG's and have been able to make equal MB's for both platforms with no price differences between them....so in my book their boards are the way to go, for both ATI and Nvidia as they are future proofed and almost goof proof as your not limited by the componants you choose but rather by what your wallet can handle
