Undectable Virus?

Even though one can scan with 3 different spyware/virus/malware software....can a virus can be undectected still ( I scan and clean daily even)?

Not typically a virus per se, but a rootkit can .. its what it was designed to do !

Files on your drive with funky filenames that when looked at in a standard way you can not see.

Sure - New viruses could be. If they haven't yet made it into the scanning software.

i used some sort of program called mbr to scan and tell me if the bootrecord etc were ok. i still have something called a PE file on my gaming machine, but it does not seem to affect performance, and i cant not seem to remove it, so hell with it, it'll stay till i reformat or update.

Well, scan daily, nothing to clean really....which is good news I suppose I just scan daily to see if something is found.
