Need a cheap webhost

I am in the midst of dumping my webhosting that I have had for 5+ years, and its ending like a bitter divorce as they continue to try and fix the damages, but I have just had it. Tech support continues to suck, and now even my FTP service is botched up.

It started last Friday when I tried to FTP some for sale pics, but was greeted by a 'Password incorrect'. The password is saved in WS_FTP so it was NOT incorrect. I tried accessing it on my workbench rig, same message. An email to the company about it was answered with a bounceback about a dead address, but it promised to rectify thins regardless ??

So today I email again and this time get the reply:

We have sent new cpanel logins
Please check it.

Sent ?? To WHERE ?? No to me at this email address !! That was 4 hours ago and I replied again asking to cancel the account (again) based on their ineptitude, but no reply yet, an hour later.

They offer the cheapest webhosting around, so I guess I am going without, but I am so ticked right now I would go w/o hosting rather than deal with idiots every time they screw up on their end. After having a server breach 2 years ago, they lost my confidence. Today, they lose my $$ as well.

Right now, I am I use this for nothing more than simple FTP uploads for pics that I want to display. I toyed around with using my Home Server as a host, but that requires too much legwork and my ISP frowns upon webhosting, even for a simple site like mine.

This company has handled my two html-only sites for several years. I've had no problems at all. $44 for the cheapest plan. They had a good reputation when I originally researched it.

At $6.95 it may seem a little pricey but you get a lot for your money. They also have some of the most Knowledgeable technical staff I have ever spoken with.

Their user control panel has tons of options. And they have tons of scripts that auto install, auto update and are fully customizable.

Received yet another email and they did have the username and password included this time, but claimed that my spam filter must have snagged the first email from them

Anyhoo, its back to working, so I can finally FTP ! Even after that, I strongly resisted the urge to email them and tell them to pound sand and cancel my account, even if it WAS working.

The annoying thing is their convoluted billing setup which requires a 4 digit password when everything I use is an 8 digit one. And then to log in to Cpanel, its an 8 digit one again !! I tried to change them all to one single password, but then it tells me that my master password was incorrect (the company sets this, I couldn't change it).

Call me a sucker for punishment at this point
