Duke, what headset are you using now?

I was using a Medusa 5.1 headset which I have been using for a long time, the one I use with my laptop and as a backup is a Logitec behind the ear set.

I realized that I did have access to a PCI slot so i bought a cheapo Rocketfish sound card that will run my speakers and the new USB headset will be what I use for gaming. I still can't get the damn mic to work, even with the new card.

Does it show up in control panel? Does the mic work on another computer?

It shows up in the windows screen as being plugged in but I can't get it to record and it does work on my laptop.

If you have a good sound card, then analog is better. If you are using onboard sound, it is probably a tossup whether USB or analog would be better.

Hey those 377 plantronics are pretty good the only thing I bring to mind is to handle them gently when you take them off. I had to replace/upgrade mine because where the speaker meets the head strap IT's pretty weak.

The madusa 5.1 is only 99.99. One of the best imo.

I have had mine for awhile and have not had this problem. Of course I do not toss my headset around.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
