    laptop question

my GF owns an HP dv2000( pavillion) it runs alright, but it has a few issues, maybe some of you can help out.

    1) it starts and runs fine till you leave it idle for about 30 minutes or so. What i guess is "hiberbate" mode? basically everything is awesome till it enters this mode. power light flashes as if it were standing by, but the mouse and monitor shut down. touching any button fires the machine back up except for the mouse and monitor, they stay off. only way to fix is to hold down power button to shut off and reboot.

The machine did not do this till i ran some updates for her, and i can not figure out what sort of software would cause this, and it seeems odd tat it would be hardware related as everything runs until it hits that mode. any ideas?

    2) i looked, but cant find the for sure answer, but, i have a turion 64x2 processor in it, and its running vita home premium. How do i tell if it is vitsa 32 or vista 64? i was trying to update her video driver for her. But apparently there are 32 and 64 bit versions, ad ill need the correct one.

    1) Sounds like it is going to S3 (Suspend-to-RAM). Basically the system memory retains its contents, but most other devices in the system go into a low power state. S3 support is driver-dependent as well as BIOS-dependent. If it worked before, one of the driver updates is likely causing your issue. try updating all drivers and BIOS if possible.

    2) right click on Computer and select Properties. It will list whether it is a 32bit or 64bit OS.

tried updatubg bios and what not, didnt seem to do much, however, i found more "advanced" settings that just allowed me to tell it to never turn off monitor or usb ports. We never travel with this machine, so needing low power settings isnt important.

as for the 32 bit,, i swear i did just that and couldnt fid it. i do it again after you say so, and bam, right theere! i do not know how i missed that earlier.

      thx

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
