Battery life isn't nearly as bad as most reviews claim for the Thunderbolt. As with any device, you want to kill bloated applications that are wanting to update constantly. There are plenty of free 'app killer' apps to choose from to help manage that. I'm using Advanced Task Killer on mine.

My battery goes down about 3/4 from morning until evening, and this is with fairly heavy use as I just got it last Friday and and am still 'playing' with it frequently.

I really don't have any significant complaints about it, other then the bloatware that Verizon pre-installs that you cannot uninstall unless you 'root' it. The texting UI isn't that great, but Duke find an alternative app for that. The music player it comes with could use some improvements as well. I've seen several third party music apps that I'm sure are much better, just haven't tried any of them yet.

The battery life does not seem to be any worse then my Devour was and it seems better then my wife's Iphone but that could be due to her charging habits.

Obi I have been using Winamp on my droid and I don't have any complaints except it does not appear to have and equalizer.

Sweet, thanks Duke. Winamp is installed. I can play all songs in a genre now, couldn't do that with the default app.

Let me know if you find an EQ for it. I'm also considering getting the PC version.

I have the Atrix. I like it. My only complaint is battery life. I don't think I can go an entire day without charging it. Other than that it is a great phone.

I'll have to try out Winamp.

Check out this app that could help out with battery life.

Something similar happened with the Atrix. I got it for $150, then almost a month later saw it for $100. Luckily I got it from Fry's, so I was able to get the difference back.

The iphone did that when it was first released. There was a huge outcry over that one. AT&T ended up refunding $100.00 to customers who had bought one before the price drop.

I'm one of the ones getting the random reboot issue but it doesn't happen too much, so this update is supposed to fix that but throw on more bloatware and add some NYT BS to my bookmarks... WTH?

I'm going to hold off on this upgrade and I wanted to know what the other Tbolt owners here are doing. I now some have rooted it but I'm a bit worried about doing that but I would explore that idea if the rest of my apps would still work.

I rooted mine and never had any issues with it. But had to unroot it to install the last update... and haven't gotten around to rooting again. I loved it rooted, didn't have any issues at all. And it was wonderful to remove all that crappy, crappy bloatware that hogs memory and drains the battery.

If this update installs even more bloat ware and especially NYT BS then I'm not going to update. I'll waited until that new rooted image is available and apply that, so I can remove all that crap.

Rooting, unrooting...I'm way behind the curve on all this stuff. I just turned off the wifi and always sync thing and it'll get me through almost two days with a charge. Maybe I'll read up on dropping the bloatware and such some day...but I'd be skeered to do much.

I'm with you Skudman... I was thinking about heading on out and pick up a Wal-Mart phone. Sounds easier. Plus, I kinda feel at home with the "People of Wal-Mart".
