    iTunes question

Ive never used. Question is, if you buy music, is it yours to download whenever where ever?
I got a throw away machine from a buddy, in it was a spare HDD with a ton of ITunes stuff. Should i be a good buddy and burn these to disc for him, or does he just have these at his access whenever?

Its like 91 GB of material, so thats going to be a chore to burn it all, if he already has them, no need for me to burn them. Id just ask him, but went out of country for a vacation.

    Itunes is the devil!!!!

I do use it though but I buy ALL my music on Amazon and download it to a separate folder on two different drives, I then make a third copy in a folder labeled "music for Itouch" it may be redundant but after the issues I had and losing my music with my previous Itouch I will never put all my eggs into Steve jobs basket.

You can't stream the music with iTunes. You have to download everything again if your on a different computer. Also if it is DRM protected you only have a certain amount of times that you can download it on different computers.

I think that you can downland it at a cheaper price but you can only save/burn it so many times. I lost mine when I upgraded my OS on my laptop.

Now with Amazon MP3 you can only DL it one time but you can do whatever the heck you want with it because its DRM free.

            iTunes is dumb as hell.

I've got it set to monitor my music folder, so you would think it would update when you start it up, right? Well, I opened it for the first time in a long time yesterday since I tend to only use it as part of a conversion process and I may need to get an iPod Touch soon to replace my failing Zen Vision M. There were no updates other than the 20 minutes it took me to try to figure out how to get it to recognize the new Radiohead album I just downloaded.

I then spent 1.5 hours sorting, adding album art, etc. Then I realized that it's only got about half my music library showing. So I had to manually add the rest, and that forced me into another 1.5 hours of sort, adding album art, etc.

Media Player has been a better program for me. Not looking forward to iTunes. However, Media Player+Zen loads music so that every artist on a compilation shows up, cluttering my list. If iTunes+iPod can avoid that or minimize, that will go a long way.

I keep all of my music organized manually. I have each artist in a separate folder. I also have every album in a separate folder in the Artist's Main Folder. This way I know what I have and where it is.

OK I'll give the straight answer because no one else is.....

Your friend can freely download all his music to the other computer and the music is protected so it can only be listened to on computers where his account is activated

You can have up to 5 computers activated. If you want to activate a fifth, you have to deactivate one.

Now we have had a lot of flooding in this area and there are still a lot of houses that have not been repaired. Must be the apocalypse.
