      the one thing i had to worry about was in reverse, the HP had a cheap cheap CHEAP power supply in it. was only like a 285 watt PSU.

      i just hope its your PSU and that your boy doesnt have a socket 939 anything. its hard as hell to find stuff for 939 anymore. craigslist = damn near impossible, and as far as things like E bay, they are in hot demand.

        It a 775 Q6600 so i should be able to find parts if need be. I remove the PSU and it all looks standard except for the screw holes in the back which I can work around.

          I just bought an Antec Basicq 350W PSU at Staples for $15.00 more then i would have gotten it for at Newegg but time is an issue. It looks like a perfect fit and I'll throw it in later when my son is home so I can help him with his first PC repair.
